From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The PIC (pilot in command) received taxi instructions to runway 09 via taxiway echo. The PIC asked for and received permission to cross runway 05/23. The PIC taxied the aircraft off the taxiway onto the grass and struck an airport sign, shutdown the engine then called ground control to report the incident. According to the controller statement, the PIC then advised he could get back on the taxiway. When asked if he had hit anything, the PIC reported he had not and was ok. The PIC asked for and accepted a takeoff clearance, aborted the takeoff, taxied back to the ramp and discovered propeller damage.
