From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) This was an on demand charter flight conducted to a beach landing site near Egegik, Alaska. The pilot reported the sand softer than normal causing the nose wheel to dug in on roll out. The pilot inspected the nose gear and only found a small dent in the cowling behind the nose wheel. All functional checks were satisfactory. The aircraft was flown solo to home base. A further inspection revealed that the mounting bulkhead for the nose landing gear had been bent. That is when the event was reported as an accident.
