From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Student pilot's first solo. On third landing at crg Craig Municipal Jacksonville, FL, pilot lost directional control and went off runway 5. During the excursion the left main landing gear strut collapsed and nose gear collapsed causing substantial damage. There was no fire or bodily injuries. The weather was not a factor. The traffic pattern was runway 32 and due to traffic, the control tower advised another aircraft to make a right turn. Both aircraft turned right causing confusion with the student pilot. The tower then advised the student pilot to land on runway 5. The student pilot may have been a little confused and landed around mid field on runway 5. During his attempt to land on a different runway, the student pilot over controlled the aircraft causing the left main landing gear strut to collapse causing damage to the left horizontal stabilizer strut and then the nose gear collapsed. The aircraft came to rest in the grass along side of the runway.
