From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot reported receiving adds wx for uuu indicating winds @01015G20+. Pilot stated he mistakenly made the connection with reported winds by selecting rnwy 22 (downwind) for landing. Pilot reported unable to set acft down, first contact was past midway point of rnwy length (2999'X75'). Acft bounced twice, power was added for go around. Aural stall indicator thru both bounces. Pilot elected go around and applied full power. Pilot estimated acft achieved ten meters of altitude prior to stall/ground contact. Pilot did not recall initial and subsequent impact. Pilot recalled selecting master switch off after aircraft came to a stop. Evidence at wreckage site indicates stall then wingtip impact causing cartwheel effect. Wreckage approximately 100 yards beyond end of rnwy 22/4 and offset to the left (east) of rnwy 22 approximately 140 feet. Wreckage location is consistent with wind direction.

As the FAA filed it
