From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot was a student in fixed wing aircraft, but holds a private pilot certificate in helicopters. He reports that while on final for landing and crossing the threshold of the runway, he was concerned that he was left of the centerline, for which he attempted corrective action. He reported the aircraft yawed to the left abruptly and he elected to attempt a go-around. However, the aircraft turned more to the left and the aircraft struck the ground and departed the runway. The pilot reported that he thought he didn't have the pilot's seat properly adjusted which may no have given him full authority for brakes and rudder movement.

As the FAA filed it
