From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The airport ATIS was reporting a wing speed of 19 knots with gusts to 25 knots. The landing runway would result in a 10 degree crosswing from the left. After a normal approach to landing with 12 degrees of flaps, the PIC stated that the left main landing wheel touch down. Immediately after the right main touched down, the left wing raised uncontrollably, causing the right wing tip to contact the ground. The tail wheel had not yet touched the ground. After the right wing contacted the ground, the tail moved upwards, causing the propeller to strike the ground. The PIC was able to maintain directional control and the tail wheel settled to the surface. The engine ceased operating and the PIC was able to coast off the side of the runway under control.
