From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft experienced a loss of engine power while in downwind segment of landing. CFI took controls and initiated an immediate turn to final with ATC approval. While on final approach aircraft engine power returned causing a sudden increase in inertia. CFI reduced power to idle and proceeded to land. Due to long landing and rapidly diminishing runway surface CFI applied break pressure along with student pilot causing excessive breaking which caused both main tires to be blown and the aircraft skidded off the departure end of the runway approximately 15 feet. No damage to the airport environment.
