From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23)Pilot reported that he performed a forward slip to a no-flap landing in preparation for his private pilot flight check. Touchdown was normal and on the centerline. The maneuver was planned to be a touch and go. Takeoff was initiated and the aircraft veered to the left. The pilot applied right rudder took the correction out when it appeared as if he was going to leave the runway surface, at which point he reduced the power to idle. The pilot did not use the brakes. The aircraft left the east side of runway 18 and rolled over a drop-off which caused the right wingtip to contact the terrain. The pilot taxied to the ramp and reported no problems in controlling the aircraft at that time. The surface winds were calm at the time of the incident.
