From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While in traffic pattern for chester county airport, (mqs), the pilot states that the landing gear lever was placed in the down position and the landing gear indicator failed to show down and locked. The "landing gear-emergency operations procedures" located in the aircraft owners manual were followed, however, the gear indicator still failed to show down and locked. The aircraft diverted to New Castle county airport, (ilg) where an emergency was declared and the pilot performed the "landing with defective nose gear checklist" also located in the aircraft owners manual. The aircraft landed with the 2 main gear down and locked and the nose gear retracted. The aircraft nose, propeller, and nose gear doors contacted the runway after airspeed diminished.
