From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was conducting a demo flight on his aircraft showing a perspective buyer the aircraft. Pilot had made several touch and go's with everthing being fine. On this attempt he was showing the short field capabilities of the aircraft, when it did not perform as expected he placed the gear up to get a better rate of climb. After circling the airport and entering the pattern to land, the pilot reported that he forgot to put the gear down and the aircraft bellied in a slid about 1200 feet down the runway. When asked about the gear horn the pilot commented that he confused the gear warning with the stall warning.
