What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot stated that he "just ran out of water" on takeoff from shannon's Pond. He said that his floats hit a three foot tall berm about 50 feet from the takeoff end of the waterway. He said that he could see that his floats "did not look right" and that he thought it better to make a precautionary landing in the swamp than to continue flying and have possible other problems. The floats sustained major damage but the aircraft suffered only minor damage.
