Aircraft sustained minor damage to the tail wheel, left wing tip and left main landing gear, as a result of the off-airport landing. Pilot was not injured during this incident.ASI verified fuel, oil, and general airworthiness of aircraft. The aircraft was maintained in excellent condition. NTSB was notified and responded with no notification needed per aircraft incident. Received engine tear down report dated September 29, 2011, in reference to engine s/n #21813, from younkin aviation, inc., 14925 woolsey road, west fork, ar 72774. The report listed as failure was not due to normal wear. It appears the failure was caused from improper starting procedures at an unknown time prior to engine failure. The amount of damage to the #5 cylinder master rod that happened during start-up would determine how long the engine will run before failure.
