What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
During landing on runway 19 at mkc, the nosegear locked to the extreme left, due to failure of the right nose gear steering rod end. This made the nose wheel steering inoperative, which caused the aircraft to slew to the left, eventually leaving the runway surface, and impacting a PAPI light assembly. The nose gear collapsed, due to hitting the concrete pad supporting the papa light. The aircraft also impacted a taxiway light before coming to rest.
