From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While landing at Bend muni airport (bnd) runway 16, winds 220-12 knots reported, the pilot had to slip aircraft with aileron and rudder to land on centerline just past the PAPI lights. With full flaps still selected at about 40 knots and 1500'- 1900' down the runway the left wing lifted and the aircraft veered hard to the right. The aircraft left the runway with skid marks showing all three gear were sliding. Once on dirt and into brush the pilot was faced with a ditch with drain pipes. Pilot avoided the pipes but went through the ditch. Now he was faced with a taxiway construction site and heavy construction equipment ahead of him. He went through the dirt berms on both side of freshly graded taxiway, exiting the berms he was faced with a larger berm and more heavy equipment. The right main gear entered the berm first at a slight angle which pulled the aircraft into the berm causing the nose gear, prop and cowling to contact the berm. The aircraft slid sideways in the berm lifting the tail and the aircraft fell over on its left wing which damaged the outer 2 feet of the tip and leading edge. The aircraft came to rest on all three gear approximately 114 feet west of runway 16, straddling the berm. Pilot and passenger exited without injury.

As the FAA filed it
