From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On feb 27, 2013 at about 1100 am local time during de-icing operations of aircraft N983SW, flight 3278, a de-ice truck struck the aircraft. As the truck was coming around the nose of the plane, the boom operator had her boom positioned out toward the nose to spray the nose and the top of the fuselage. When she saw the boom was getting close to the plane, she told the driver of the truck to stop. When he stepped on the brake, the truck slid forward about a foot and a half. At this point she was unable to move the boom out of the way. The bottom of the boom hit the plane above the windshield on the f/o side causing minor damange.
