According to the pilot, he made a slightly high approach to runway 190. There was a quartering tail wind at the time. The pilot landed the aircraft long and hard, and tail low. When the aircraft touched down, it began to veer to the right of the runway center line with a vigorous tail-wheel shimmy. The pilot attempted to straighten out the aircraft during the landing roll, but he had no rudder authority. The aircraft continued to turn to the right, ground looped, and came to rest in the dirt off the runway. During the ground loop, the left main landing gear leg folded under the fuselage causing minor damage to the underside of the aircraft.
