From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

In level flight and slowing to match speed of nearby fellow stearman, the throttle became unresponsive and engine remained at idle through all throttle settings. Turning on aux fuel pump was no-help. Determined it was impossible to return to the nearest airport and found it necessary to pick a suitable place to put the aircrat down.

Landed aircraft in a vineyard with normal touchdown but a lot of debris scattering around the aircraft. As the aircraft slowed to a stop the wires from the vineyards put enough down force to slowly settle the aircraft upside down. No injuries were reported

As the FAA filed it
