From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N58LD was attempting to land eastbound, into the morning sun, on Bryan Aero Park?s grass strip. Another aircraft was landing westbound but was not seen by N58LD?s pilot until N58LD was close to touchdown. N58LD?s passenger stated that N58LD?s pilot throttled-up, pulled up, and turned hard to the left as the other aircraft?s pilot, having seen N58LD, was climbing again. N58LD?s passenger also stated that the other aircraft appeared to be heading at N58LD. N58LD was travelling in a westerly direction when it crashed just north of the west end of the airstrip.
