From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft took off from livermore, CA. And at cruise of 4500', engine began losing power, RPM dropped, pilot placed fuel control to full rich and throttled back, then programmed GPS for byron airport but did not have enough altitude to make that airport.

Pilot decided to performed emergency landing on dirt roads next to corn field, but then noticed powerlines, made 180 degree turn and could not get aircraft lined up with dirt road.

Aircraft touched down on dirt road and bounced into corn field. Aircraft destroyed and pilot was able to walk away with bruised right knee.
