From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After conducting a few aerobatic maneuvers with a freind, the aircraft was flying straight and level when the engine lost power. The pilot attempted to restart the engine. The engine would not restart. The pilot attempted to land at wheeler army airfield. The passenger contacted wheeler tower and declared an emergency. The pilot decided he was losing too much altitude to land at wheeler army airfield and elected to land in a plowed field. The aircraft touched down into soft ground and flipped on its back after landing. Both occupants exited the aircraft.
