From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On the ramp at george bush intercontinental airport (iah) in houston, Texas the EMB-145 had an electrical issue that resulted in the PFD and MFD screens losing the signal generator and the computer which resulted in an ?x? Displayed on the screens. Maintenance was called out to work on the aircraft. The problem was corrected when maintenance reset the aircraft electrical system.

The aircraft departed iah for mobile regional airport (mob) in mobile, AL. After departure the crew heard a loud bang from the left lateral side panel of the cockpit. The captain reported seeing faint smoke and the smell of electrical smoke. The captain and the first officer said they felt a shudder from the incident. An emergency was declared and the crew diverted to bpt (Beaumont, TX). The aircraft landed without incident. There was no damage to the aircraft and no injuries to the passengers or crew. Upon investigation it was discovered that no explosion had taken place as originally reported. The pilots stated that it was a loud bang.

The crew stated that at bpt the PFD and the MFD again appeared to have lost the signal generator and computer which resulted in x displayed on the display.
