From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While enroute from kmem to krbd on Monday, September 2, 2013, flying VFR in VMC while receiving enroute flight following services from ATC.

The aircraft experienced engine failure, while flight following with fort worth center cruising westbound at 6,500' MSL, just east of the Clarksville, TX airport.

The pilot made "mayday" call and was assisted by ATC.

Pilot unsuccessfully attempted an in-flight restart. He then succeeded with a manual extension of the landing gear while descending to the airport and making an orbit around the field to join a normal downwind for runway 17.

The pilot was able to land safely on the paved runway and successfully turned and stopped the airplane clear of the runway.

No damage to the airplane (other than the seized engine), the airport, or property of any kind.

Pilot stated "in sum, an uneventful emergency procedure executed by the book, pretty much as we train to do it".
