From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On Sunday March 23, 2014, albert whitted airport, operating off of runway 18/36 because the main runway, which favors the prevailing winds 90% of the time, was closed so that the grand prix race could use it for the finish line. The winds were from the west, southwest@ 12 knots and gusting. First two flights were without a problem. About noon departed for a 20 min flight. The sea breeze usually does not kick in until about 3 or 4 in the afternoon, however, on the way back to the airport the tower was reporting the wind from the west at 12 knots gusting. Aircraft landed on the numbers. About halfway from touchdown to ramp charlie, a wind gust picked up the right wing and the left wing made contact with the ground. Did not stop on the runway and turned off on ramp charlie and taxied to the hangar. As a result, the main spar in the lower wing broke and the wood bow and 1 rib needs to be replaced in the top wing.
