From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Crew reported that on 11 mile base for ILS-3 at msp, the mission specialist in the back of the aircraft noted that the display on the miltope equipment had quit and the equipment was emitting smoke. The crew donned oxygen masks, turned off power to the affected equipment and an emergency was declared by the flight crew due to smoke in the cockpit. Aircraft landed without further incident at msp. Fire department met aircraft upon landing and performed a heat scan which found nothing burning. Aircraft was towed to FBO.
