From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft skin evidence shows the gear was unlocked and in transit upon contact with the runway. The scrapes on the main gear doors indicate the main gear where in the gear wells during contact with the runway. The scrapes on the nose gear doors indicate the nose gear doors where fully open but the nose gear was in transit and not locked in the down position upon contact with the runway.

The onsite A&P mechanic indicated the gear down check, while the aircraft was craned in the air on the runway, was satisfactory with no significant issues with the landing gear extension or indicating system.
