From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC was flying the airplane into the Palatka airport 28J to have scheduled maintenance done. During the first approach to runway 9 the pilot executed a missed approach due to being too high and too fast. During the second approach the airplane bounced and while airborne the PIC decided to execute a missed approach and applied full power. At that time the airplane started to yaw and rolled to the left. At that point the airplane's left wing hit the grass and started to cart wheel. After that the propeller struck the ground and the engine separated from the airplane. The airplane came to a stop about 50 feet from the certerline of runway 9, just past the intersection of runway 17/35.
