From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC stated he made several surveys of the clearing he intended to land on by Beluga Lake at 700' AGL. After making multiple low approaches he decided to land. PIC stated that after touchdown, the left wingtip struck some bushes on the northwest side of the clearing, and the tailwheel struck something that forced the tail into the air and caused the prop to strike the ground. The PIC was unable to maintain control of the aircraft, and it ended up in a ditch on the side of the clearing.

PIC and passenger exited the aircraft uninjured. PIC stated that there was a prop strike, left wingtip, and airframe damage to the fuselage behind the baggage compartment, and in the empennage area.
