From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Mishap pilot (mp) over-estimated her fuel. While very familiar of her fuel gauges and their accuracy, mp did not know of the "unusable fuel" for her aircraft type. Consequently, she overflew fuel site to save time and 'press on to Wasilla airport.' Aircraft ran out of fuel near 'paradise ranch' where mp saw a private landing strip. She was unable to compensate for airspeed and altitude and overshot the private field. She abruptly pulled up to avoid trees and the aircraft stalled and crashed into grove of willow trees. No injuries.
