What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
1/30/2016 - Discussion with pilot indicated that he had taken off from chd for a local flight. Upon gear retraction the gear did not cycle into the retracted position. He made a flight by the tower for them to observe gear position. They visually confirmed the gear was not fully retracted. The pilot flew around for a while attempting to get the gear to transition using the normal gear electrical system. Finally he used the emergency handle to release the gear and was able to pump the gear to the down and locked position.
Pilot landed without further incident at chd.
Maintenance inspected landing gear system and determine the MLG pressure switch was inoperative (open all the time). Pressure switch was removed, cleaned, inspected, and tested and re-installed. Gear retraction test was successfully conducted multiple times with no further hang-up conditions. Aircraft returned to service.
