From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot had trouble finding airport. When the pilot saw the airport the pilot commenced with a landing at a higher than normal airspeed. Pilot slipped the aircraft to bleed off speed and landed 1/2 to 3/4 of the way down the runway. A go around was not performed because the pilot thought the aircraft would contact trees near the end of the runway. The aircraft was steered across grass and onto a road to avoid going over a steep cliff. The aircraft came to rest on a road with a collapsed right landing gear, bent propeller, bent fire wall brace and the right wing tip under a guard rail.
