From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot stated engine failed as helicopter was approx. 20 feet AGL and 50 KIAS. He maneuvered to grass area between the taxiway and runway 12/30 and prepared for a hard landing. Aircraft made contact with surface on skids and tail boom stinger. The helicopter then turned 90 degrees to the right and then overturned coming to rest on the left side. The pilot turned off ignition and all other electrical switches and disconnected the battery.

The pilot was uninjured, but the helicopter was substantially damaged.
