From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot stated: he departed mccall airport for 85U to pick up cargo from a hunting camp. After loading the cargo he was on take off about to rotate when he felt like he might have hit a rock with his wheel. When he made his next stop he checked his tires and did not see any damage. When he returned to mccall and was unloading the cargo he noticed the damage to the lower section of the tail.

Pilot thinks he must have hit the tail when he was rotating at the end of the runway where there are several dips in the runway.
