From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Immediately after landing on runway 24 at the Burlington-Alamance Regional Airport the pilot of a Cessna 172 experienced a gust of wind. The gust caused the aircraft to veer left of the runway. The PIC immediately initiated a go around, applying full power to the aircraft. The aircraft continued to veer left and dropped back to the runway surface. The aircraft crossed over the runway light and continued to skid sideways down an embankment before coming to rest. PIC secured the electrical and fuel systems and exited the aircraft uninjured.
