From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Interviews reveiled the airplane was having intermittant electrical issues. A different person had tried to use the airplane earlier, and could not get the engine started. Pilot stated:

-Engine was hard to start. "Had to turn off boost pump and strobe to reduce load."

-On flight from khdc to kpns, "the aspen was flickering".

On return flight to khdc, still had intermittant electrical anomolies. Upon reaching khdc, pilot decided to do some touch and go's. immediately after fourth touch and go, pilot stated he "lost power" and decided to land straight ahead. Airplane landed on runway and went approximately 400 yards past the end of the runway and stopped in mud. Pilot stated he applied full power to try to turn back but airplane was stuck in mud, so he shut down.
