What happened

During an instructional flight the aircraft bounced on a landing attempt and started to drift left of center line, the student pilot pushed the right rudder and the aircraft abruptly veered to the right before the CFI could correct it. The aircrafts left wing tip make contact with the runway and runway light fixture. The aircraft came to rest in the grassy area on the right side of the runway.

DURING AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED ON A LANDING ATTEMPT AND STARTED TO DRIFT LEFT OF CENTER LINE, THE STUDENT PILOT PUSHED THE RIGHT RUDDER AND THE AIRCRAFT ABRUPTLY VEERED TO THE RIGHT BEFORE THE CFI COULD CORRECT IT. THE AIRCRAFTS LEFT WING TIP MAKE CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY AND RUNWAY LIGHT FIXTURE. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST IN THE GRASSY AREA ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY.
