From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Shortly after 6:00 pm, Friday, 08/17/2018 - pilot stated after making the second spray pass over a field of corn, he pulled up and started into his turn when he ?felt something wasn?t right? And described the aircraft as ?hardly flying anymore?. He decided he could not make it to the nearby farm, as he was too low, so he turned a bit to avoid wires and attempted a landing in the 6 to 7 foot tall corn. While skidding through the corn, he recalled the engine still running. The aircraft came to rest upright but was severely damaged. The pilot exited the plane unharmed.
