What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
After review of damage and speaking with pilot. It appears the forward nose gear door became disconnected from the nose gear attach point. During landing gear extension, the nose gear was restricted by the forward nose gear door being pushed closed by airflow. (Normally this door would mechanically be pushed open by the connection to the gear leg) the attach pin was not located, so we are unable to determine if the pin failed, or if it was improperly installed.
As the FAA filed it
AFTER REVIEW OF DAMAGE AND SPEAKING WITH PILOT.
