From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On Saturday September 9, 2019 aircraft N2683C was on a routine training flight with an instructor and student pilot practicing full stop landings at brennand airpark (79C). After four full stop landings and take offs they were setting up the aircraft for another landing and did not get a green gear down light when the gear handle was selected to the down position. Pilots decided to return to Oshkosh (osh) and enroute tried several times to get the gear in a safe condition for landing including hand pumping the gear down, all attempts to achieve a green gear safe light were unsuccessful. Upon touchdown during rollout the nose landing gear collapsed causing the propeller to contact the runway and minor damage to the sheet metal skin on the bottom of the aircraft near the nose section. Both pilots exited the aircraft unharmed. VMC weather prevailed during the flight operation.
