From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While spraying a field, the PIC was coming to the end of a pass. As he went to climb to clear a row of pine trees, the rotorcraft engine lost power. The ship started to spin on the yaw axis. The tail boom struck a tree which caused the fuselage skids to strike a nearby pick up truck and horse trailer. The tail boom separated from the rotorcraft and the ship came to rest on its right side. The pilot was uninjured, shut of the engine and electrical system and exited the aircraft. There was no post crash fire.
