What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
The pilot took off with very little wind. When he landed he veered off the runway and went into a plowed field. After getting out of the airplane he noticed the wind had picked up. The next plane to land had landed in the opposite direction. The pilot indicated that this is the only reason he could have veered off. The pilot had his mechanic look at the aircraft and found no issues that could have caused the nose wheel to fail causing a steering issue. He indicated that he obviously made a mistake.
