From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On July 8, 2020, the airman was involved an incident that occurred at the clarinda, IA municipal airport (csq) in an attempt to land. Due to a crosswind (220 @ 9 KTS with gust) on the paved surface runway , the airman chose to land into the wind on an adjacent turf runway 22. The airman had adequate performance calculations to successfully complete the landing.

However, due to unanticipated pilot errors and no corrective action being made, the aircraft overshot the end of the runway on landing. The airman stated that he did not account for a encountering a thermal, high approach, fast approach, and reduced braking action.

This caused the aircraft to come to a rest off the end of the runway. Damage was caused to the aircraft's nosewheel gear and prop when the nosewheel fell into a drainage ditch.
