From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC departed uos with an airmet-t valid. Winds were reported calm by the pilot but he said it was gusty above the trees. PIC departed off runway 06 and encountered significant wind gusts not that were not appearant from the ground. Climbing out the pilot experienced a turbulent down draft from the tree line. PIC attempted to climb above the turbulence, but the climb performance was severely compromised due to the downdraft. By this time, PIC reported he was passed the point he could land again and was too low to return. The aircraft settled into a growth of vegitation and trees which destroyed the aircraft.
