From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

A passenger reported that there was a fire in the cabin above the lavatory seat and he threw a drink on it to extinguish it. The emergency checklist was consulted. The PIC stood up and turned around and could see no smoke or fire, but did see what looked like burn marks by the fluorescent ceiling lights over the lavatory seat. Based on the location of the marks, and the fact that the fluorescent ceiling lights were on, power was removed from the lighting system. An emergency was declared, aircraft diverted to and landed at psp without further incident.
