From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot was performing touch and go landings at the private airport during gusty crosswind conditions. The wind exceeded the maximum limitations of the aircraft. A witness stated the aircraft bounced on the runway three times before leaving the runway and entering a harvested cornfield to the east. Two witnesses stated the aircraft was attempting to takeoff as it accelerated through the cornfield. The aircraft became airborne prior to the end of the field and contacted electrical wires and a large power pole at the end. After the aircraft hit the power pole the aircraft then impacted the ground and flipped onto its top and burned.
