From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

privacy data omitted, Dca-rdu, as a PART121 operator, on 1/21 2022, at 2050EST, departed the paved taxiway surface while turning off on taxiway B9 at the end of runway 5L. The captain reported he had received reports from ATC the runway was wet, braking action was good. Snow/ice pellets had been falling since earlier in the day. The first officer was flying the aircraft and the touchdown was reported as being on speed, in the touchdown zone. Actual braking was reported as fair to poor by the crew. The aircraft was brought to a low speed, and power was added to taxi down to the last turnoff at B9. Flight recorder data appears to confirm these reports. Braking action in the area of B9 was reported nil by the crew. The aircraft slid to the left and the nose gear and one main departed the paved taxiway surface. 13 passengers and 4 crew were aboard with no reported injuries. Passengers were deplaned out the onboard stairs and taken to the terminal a rdu airport authority vehicle requested a recheck of braking action for the runway just prior to this incident, but was told to hold short of the runway due to inbound aircraft.
