What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot forgot to set flaps to takeoff setting. Pilot recognized this too late in takeoff roll for safe abort, and attempted no-flap takeoff. There was not enough run distance available to generate no-flap takeoff speed and clear approximately 15' obstacles (trees) at end of field. Aircraft impacted trees at departure end of field, which stopped propeller and caused loss of power and impact in field beyond trees.
