From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 03/29/2022 at 1530 EST N5067W was conducting a VFR cross country flight from kobe to klbt when 14 miles northwest of Melbourne, FL the pilot observed no oil pressure and the engine started to vibrate. The pilot diverted to the Melbourne, FL airport (kmlb) and struck powerlines while on approach to runway 09R. The aircraft came to rest inverted on a side street a half mile from the approach end of runway 09R.

Further investigation revealed that the number three cylinder connecting rod failed in flight resulting in loss of power and the aircraft being unable to sustain flight.
