From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot stated that on approach to landing on the south facing runway of Star K Ranch, he entered into a flare that was too high. The subsequent loss of airspeed resulted in the aircraft losing lift and touching down hard.

This touchdown caused the airplane to "bounce" once, main gear first, and veer off course. The momentum of the aircraft carried it into the fenceline located ~45 feet from runway centerline where the right side of the empennage impacted a fence post. This impact twisted the right side horizontal stabilizer and substantially damaged the elevator control surface.

The outer 3/4 of the right wing's leading edge reached over/beyond this fenceline and struck a tree. After these impacts the aircraft was brought to rest.

As the FAA filed it
