From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot stated he performed gumps memory items (gas, undercarriage, mixture, props, seatbelts) before landing at the Accomack County Airport. However, he stated he was distracted in the cockpit while conversing with a friend in the right seat. The pilot stated he failed to verify the landing gear was down and locked. This resulted in the aircraft touching down and landing with the gear in the retracted position causing minimal damage to the undercarriage and propeller. Damage is consistent with the gear in the fully retracted position.

As the FAA filed it
