From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 09/09/2022 at approximately 06:50, aircraft privacy data omitted, a Piper PA-32RT-300T, serial number 32R-7887018 departed georgetown municipal airport (gtu) and flew to Bulverde Airpark (1T8) to pick up a passenger. After landing and picking up the passenger, the pilot reported completing preflight checks and run up at the end of runway 34. Pilot then initiated a short field take off procedure and had previously calculated a ground toll of 1600 feet. Once brakes were released, the takeoff sequence began and the pilot noticed that the plane was not accelerating. At approximately 1500 feet down the runway, the pilot knew there was an issue and did not believe he could stop before hitting the fence and several vehicles at the end of the runway dropping off children for school. Pilot then stated that he decided to continue the takeoff roll, eventually rotating with only a few hundred feet of runway remaining. The pilot reported that the airplane was not making full power but was able to clear the power lines, road, and school at end of runway. The airplane continued to struggle and began stalling. Pilot located a field over a row of trees and landed in the field. The aircraft collided with a tree at the end of the field separating the right wing and twisting the fuselage. Pilot and passenger departed the aircraft with no injuries and notified authorities.

As the FAA filed it

ON 09/09/2022 AT APPROXIMATELY 06:50, AIRCRAFT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, A PIPER PA-32RT-300T, SERIAL NUMBER 32R-7887018 DEPARTED GEORGETOWN MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (GTU) AND FLEW TO BULVERDE AIRPARK (1T8) TO PICK UP A PASSENGER.
